TruEQ is operated by GKApex Solutions LLC ("we", "our", "the app"). TruEQ is built with a privacy-first philosophy. The short version: TruEQ does not collect, store, or sell your personal data, and it contains no analytics or advertising trackers.
Your equalizer settings, saved presets, per-app assignments, and theme choice are stored locally on your device only. They are never uploaded to us. Removing the app deletes them.
If you turn on per-app automatic switching, Android requires "Notification access" so TruEQ can detect which media app is currently playing. TruEQ uses this solely to read the active media session (the playing app's package name) and apply the matching preset. It does not read the text or content of any notification. You can revoke this access at any time in your system settings, and the rest of the app keeps working.
To switch presets for video apps that don't broadcast a media session (for example some streaming players), TruEQ can optionally use Android's "Usage access" to detect the app currently on screen while audio is playing. It is used only to identify the active app for preset switching, is entirely optional, and can be revoked at any time.
To keep the equalizer running after you leave the app, TruEQ runs a foreground service with an ongoing notification and may ask permission to ignore battery optimization. These keep audio processing alive; they do not collect any data.
If you buy TruEQ Pro, the transaction is processed by the Google Play Store and our payments provider, RevenueCat. We receive an anonymous purchase receipt to unlock Pro features. We never receive your full payment details. See Google's and RevenueCat's privacy policies for how they handle payment data.
TruEQ is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
